Public bug reported:
On Ubuntu 24.04.2 using an Intel Core i7-1195G7 (11th Gen, Iris Xe
Graphics), windows frequently freeze and become unresponsive when a
second monitor is connected via HDMI under Wayland.
This issue does not occur under Xorg — everything works normally there,
even with the same dual-monitor setup.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Use default Ubuntu Wayland session
2. Connect an external monitor via HDMI
3. Use the system normally (even light tasks, e.g. opening Settings or Files)
4. Windows or GNOME shell become unresponsive (sometimes completely freeze)
What I expect: Stable window behavior with multiple monitors on Wayland
What happens: Unresponsiveness and freezing with HDMI monitor connected
Workaround: Logging into the “Ubuntu on Xorg” session avoids all
freezing issues.
