The failed DKMS build alone is not really explaining the boot failure. But 
maybe it causes the post-install to bail out without building an initrd. Is 
there a /boot/initrd.img-6.14.0-* file present?
If not, does "sudo mkinitramfs -k 6.14.0-24-generic" create one. And would the 
6.14 kernel then boot? I will not have wireless. That will require an updated 
rtl8851bu driver.
