This issue seems to be specific to Ubuntu rather than a Linux kernel issue. Over the past few months, I have installed Ubuntu 22.04, 22.10, 23.04, 23.10, 24.04, 24.10 and connected the XMWXSB03YM mouse, but the above symptoms still persist.
