Testing for noble-proposed: ============================== 1. Reproduced error on noble deb snapd 2.67.1+24.04 (on noble): ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Ensured that the snapd deb is run (not the snap) by appending `SNAP_REEXEC=0` to /etc/environment and rebooting. Install curl, download the lp2089195-reproducer.sh script from https://gist.github.com/olivercalder/8e45832db777ed6a4a83c67f2fd70ca5 (curled the raw gist from https://gist.githubusercontent.com/olivercalder/8e45832db777ed6a4a83c67f2fd70ca5/raw/e113952ef3c9ee363f1e313d0e78bc016a3f4ca8/lp2089195-reproducer.sh) Run the script with `sh lp2089195-reproducer.sh` from a terminal. Confirmed the version was as followed, then pressed <Enter>: snap 2.67.1+24.04 snapd 2.67.1+24.04 series 16 ubuntu 24.04 kernel 6.14.0-24-generic The script started the test-snapd-sh snap running in the background for the duration of the script. It then changed the test-snapd-sh channel to latest/edge, then set its "refresh-inhibited-time" to 13 days ago and triggered an autorefresh. I waited until I saw the Snaps notification pop-up stating "test-snapd-sh will quit and update in 23 hours", then pressed <Enter>. The script changed the test-snapd-sh channel back to latest/stable, then set its "refresh-inhibited-time" to null (simulating it no longer being a refresh candidate) and triggered an autorefresh. I waited until I saw the Snaps notification pop-up stating "test-snapd-sh will quit and update in -1064817768 minutes, then pressed <Enter>. Thus, the bug still occurs, as evidenced by the pop-up with negative minutes before update. 2. Update to noble-proposed deb snapd 2.68.5+ubuntu24.04.1 (on noble): ------------------------------------------------------------------- Run the script with `sh lp2089195-reproducer.sh` from a terminal.. Confirmed the version was as follows, then pressed <Enter>: snap 2.68.5+ubuntu24.04.1 snapd 2.68.5+ubuntu24.04.1 series 16 ubuntu 24.04 kernel 6.14.0-24-generic As before, I waited until I saw the Snaps notification pop-up stating "test-snapd-sh will quit and update in 23 hours", then pressed <Enter>. I then waited for the script to switch the channel back to latest/stable, set the "refresh-inhibited-time" to null, and prompt me to wait see if a notification pop-up occurs with a negative update time. I waited for a minute, and no such pop-up occurred. I repeated this several times and got the same result. Therefore, I can confirm that the bug is resolved with snapd 2.68.5+ubuntu24.04.1 on noble. ** Tags removed: verification-needed-noble ** Tags added: verification-done-noble -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2089195 Title: notification that snap will quit and update in -1064462318 minutes, but snap has no updates available To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snapd/+bug/2089195/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
