I installed the package from `proposed` in an Ubuntu 24.04 system. I
then copied several pictures into my desktop folder:
cp /usr/share/pixmaps/debian-logo.png ~/Escritorio
cp /usr/share/pixmaps/ubuntu-logo-text.png ~/Escritorio
cp /usr/share/pixmaps/ubuntu-logo-text-dark.png ~/Escritorio
In all three cases, rhe desktop icon did appear and it had the right
thumbnail, so I can confirm that this patch does work.
