Private bug reported:

On my Dell Latitude 5410 running Ubuntu 25.04 (Wayland session), the
internal keyboard frequently malfunctions after login or reboot.
Affected keys include u, j, 4, etc., which produce wrong characters or
nothing.

The issue occurs only on the internal keyboard. External USB keyboards
function correctly.

evtest shows proper key events.

libinput debug-events shows keypresses with code -1, which suggests
invalid scancode mapping or a failure in the kernel input layer.

Rebinding /sys/bus/platform/drivers/i8042/ sometimes restores function
temporarily.

The issue persists after BIOS update and occurs even with different
XKB/gsettings keyboard configs.

The system is fully up-to-date.
