For future reference:

$ apt policy <package>

is a more convenient way to show (a) which version of a package is
installed, and (b) where it came from.

And,

$ apt install -t <series>-proposed <package>

is a more convenient way to specify that you want to install from
-proposed. Apt will usually do the right thing at that point.
