Looking at the debian bugs:

I'd argue this is an edge case, wrong quoting of quotes in a password which 
results in an error, where you can retry. This should be fixed, but is a minor 
problem not blocking main inclusion.

occurs when one selects password (not ident) auth, and then doesn't supply a 
password. I'd also see that as an edge case where you may retry.

apart from these reports I do see improvement potential for dbconfig-common's 
setup questions and error handling in general. while trying to reproduce the 
above errors, I encountered others, which I submitted patches for:
