I'd like to add a warning to people out there (given that you won't stop installing CUPS):
It appears that CUPS is re-installed whenever the Chromium snap is updated! I consider CUPS an unnecessary security risk for many, especially for myself as I am using Chromium in a kiosk environment. I noticed the other day that CUPS had reappeared, even though my kiosk generator (KioskForge.org) removes it while making the kiosk. I have now added code to try uninstall it whenever snap is asked to refresh its snaps. I use the command "snap remove --purge cups". This is just for those that find this thread and think they just need to uninstall CUPS once. It will reappear! Personally, I think it is a very bad idea to automatically install CUPS with Chromium. Why not install a JavaScript IDE in case people feel like coding in JavaScript now they have a web browser? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2017447 Title: chromium installs cupsd snap To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/2017447/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
