yes, I've investigated the same and will follow up. (I believe that happened 
when a new kernel for a new Ubuntu release got initially prepared).

Anyway, we already kicked off the SRU process to get this again build in 
(instead of module).
Massimiliano was already so kind to send the needed patch for this kernel 
config option change to the Ubuntu kernel team's mailing list:

(and it already got the two needed ACKs).
