I tested again with kernel 6.11.0-29-generic, and unfortunately, the issue is still present. USB tethering does not work with my main phone.
Details: - Phone model: Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 4G - USB tethering was already enabled and physically connected via USB during the reboot after kernel upgrade - Despite that, the interface does not show up after boot - The device is detected in `lsusb` as: `Xiaomi Inc. Mi/Redmi series (RNDIS)` (ID 2717:ff80) - But no `usb0` or `enx...` interface appears in `nmcli device` or `ip a` - Modules like `rndis_host`, `cdc_ether`, and `usbnet` do not get loaded automatically - Manually loading them with `modprobe` doesn't help either Interestingly, I tested USB tethering using my **secondary phone (Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A)**, and it works **normally** even after the kernel upgrade. Tethering with Redmi Note 12 4G works perfectly fine when I boot into **kernel 6.11.0-26-generic**, so this is clearly a regression that affects newer kernels only for this particular device. Please let me know if any further diagnostics or logs are needed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2115555 Title: USB tethering broken in kernel 6.11.0-28 (works fine in 6.11.0-26) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-signed-hwe-6.11/+bug/2115555/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
