I was thinking the upgrade is only a measure to block people running into broken systems and a follow-up solution is in work. Personally I feel a not upgradeable, no longer supported Ubuntu install not a big asset win over the prior situation.
I don't think Helio is right: I have /boot on ext4, but / is on ZFS and I run into the deadlock. James: The hotpatch evaluates "zpool list -H" and aborts on non-empty outputs. So if you can temporarily unmount any ZFS volume for the upgrade you should neither hit the kernel deadlock nor the freshly implemented upgrade block. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2110891 Title: System freeze on release upgrade 24.10 oneiric to 25.04 plucky with root fs on ZFS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2110891/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
