Coming back to this bug after a while. a) libapache2-mod-python was last shipped in ubuntu in oracular. It was removed from ubuntu due to this FTBFS[1] (failure to build) in debian. Debian still has it, though, in unstable (not testing), and that bug is still open.
b) The upstream commit[2] applies cleanly to noble, and oracular (same package version). I prepared a PPA with the fix: https://launchpad.net/~ahasenack/+archive/ubuntu/libapache2-mod- python-2078527 Mike, if you are still lurking on this bug, would you mind to test this noble package once it's built? 1. https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1091289 2. https://github.com/grisha/mod_python/commit/51f359d1252865181247e5182294ae5a28e3116d ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #1091289 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1091289 ** Also affects: libapache2-mod-python (Ubuntu Oracular) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: libapache2-mod-python (Ubuntu Plucky) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: libapache2-mod-python (Ubuntu Questing) Importance: Undecided Status: Triaged ** Also affects: libapache2-mod-python (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: libapache2-mod-python (Ubuntu Noble) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: libapache2-mod-python (Ubuntu Noble) Assignee: (unassigned) => Andreas Hasenack (ahasenack) ** Changed in: libapache2-mod-python (Ubuntu Oracular) Status: New => Won't Fix ** Changed in: libapache2-mod-python (Ubuntu Plucky) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: libapache2-mod-python (Ubuntu Questing) Status: Triaged => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2078527 Title: sys.version from mod_python cannot be parsed by the python platform module To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mod-python/+bug/2078527/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
