To reproduce:

1. Start xfce4-screenshooter
2. Capture a screenshot
3. Select action "Copy to the clipboard"
4. Try to paste the image in Firefox or GIMP or anything else.

Expected result:

The images is pasted.

Actual result:

Depends on the application you tried to paste in. Usually, nothing
happens. In GIMP, a message box pops up saying that the clipboard does
not contain image data.

Workaround:

Select the action "Open in GIMP", and copy it to the clipboard from
there.
