Public bug reported:
After unattended-upgrade of mtail, mtail.service does not restart
automatically.
This seems to be because the mtail.postinst script does not include any
instructions to (re)start the systemd service (such as "systemctl
restart mtail" or "deb-systemd-invoke").
Steps to reproduce:
1. Install mtail and enable mtail.service.
2. Run unattended-upgrade to upgrade mtail.
3. Observe that mtail.service is stopped after the upgrade and is not restarted
automatically.
Expected behavior:
mtail.service should be restarted automatically after the package upgrade.
Actual behavior:
mtail.service remains inactive (dead) after the upgrade.
Possible cause:
mtail.postinst is missing a call to (re)start the service.
