Hello,

I would like to second the request made by Bill Brown above. I have an
Echo Audio Gina3G soundcard that is not being recognized by both Ubuntu
7.1 and Ubuntu Studio 7.1. The Echo Audio sound cards are popular in
the semi-pro audio market (home recording, djs) and with people wanting
high-quality sound output to home stereo systems.

With the comprehensive GUI mixer "echomixer" I have had my Gina3G fully
functional running Fedora with the Planet CCRMA audio packages. The
absence of out-of-the-box recognition is preventing me, and likely
others who are more musician than programmer, from using Ubuntu.

Thanks,
J.B. Wimbere
