Hi,
I'm using:
- Lubuntu 24.04
- inkscape
- cups
- Brother Labelprinter QL-820NWBc
to print 29x90mm to print labels.
Last time, I printed, a year ago, around June 2024, it worked perfectly. I made
labels in inkscape, set the paper size to 29x90mm, printed them – everything
right.
Now, same computer, same Lubuntu (just updated), same printer, same labels:
Doesn't work correctly anymore. It prints, but the label is tiny, extremely
scaled down, as if it was fit into a A4 page, and the A4 was scaled down into
29mm height, although all printer settings, both in the cups admin settings,
and the inkscape print menu seem perfectly correct. Occurs in both cases,
whether I set auto fit in or not.
Observation: If I do print from inkscape into a PDF file, and then send the PDF
to the printer with
cups.lp -d Brother_QL_820NWB Print_Aufkleber3-job_192.pdf
everything works fine.
I wanted to debug, how inkscape is launching the print job, and what it sends,
with strace, but inkscape does not launch a sub process, but directly sends its
jobs to cups.
Since cups does not delete it's jobs afterwards, I was able to check the print
files, but except from different orientations, they do look correct.
Therefore, I'd have two questions:
1) What has changed since last june?
2) How would I debug inkscape printing, especially all print
paramenters?
