I am the original reporter of this bug (to the Ubuntu bug tracker) and not the person who did all testing. All work and testing so far was done by Ankush, so I hope he will be able to test the points you brought up.
I did some tests with the existing unpatched Remmina with a server that does not hit the described bug (NLA authentication scheme is not affected). I can confirm that if the wrong credentials were saved, the Remmina has prompted the credentials window with the saved credentials prefilled when I tried connecting. This worked as expected. Also, I tested what happens if the username was removed from the saved credentials. When I attempted to connect, the Remmina prompted the credentials window with the password prefilled, but the username field was empty. As far as I can see, it worked correctly.
