Anything in ~/.local/share/nautilus or ~/.local/share/gnome-shell be causing the issue? I had these folders backed up and restored after OS reinstall. Removing .local/share folder resolved the issue. In case you need any more info to look into the root cause, let me know else this ticket can be closed.
