We're seeing the same symptoms on some of our machines too, specifically
with Intel SSDPE2KX020T8 SSDs. Our configuration has 8 of them (in a
RAID5 using Intel VROC) - we've observed that during boot three of the
drives go offline (observed that the LEDs on them turn off). Re-seating
the drives at this point makes them get picked up again and the boot
continue.

I can still see the issue with the quirks patch kernel (6.8.0-60-generic
#63+TEST2111521v20250609b1-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Mon Jun 9 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux).

The test6 kernel from earlier (6.8.0-60-generic #63+test6) boots OK.

The issue is also seen on the HWE kernel (6.11.0-26.26~24.04.1) and
mainline (6.15.0-061500-generic #202505260036 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Mon
May 26 01:07:21 UTC 2025 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux).

Here's the details of one of the drives from dmidecode:

I'll attach the dmesgs from the boots on TEST2111521 and test6 up until
init.
