Public bug reported: The currently shipped i8kutils (i.e. i8kctl, i8kfan and i8kmon) want to access /proc/i8k which is deprecated (e.g. https://docs.kernel.org/admin-guide/abi-obsolete.html#symbols-under- proc-i8k )
There is also a fork of i8kutils that includes the switch to the new interface: https://github.com/Wer-Wolf/i8kutils As the currently shipped version of i8kutils in Ubuntu doesn't work with the kerne that Ubuntu is using it is a bug that needs to be solved. As it seems that the original source at https://github.com/vitorafsr/i8kutils has stopped development it might be necessary to switch to the fork at https://github.com/Wer-Wolf/i8kutils ** Affects: i8kutils Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: i8kutils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: dell fan i8k i8kutils ** Also affects: i8kutils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Bug watch added: github.com/vitorafsr/i8kutils/issues #34 https://github.com/vitorafsr/i8kutils/issues/34 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2113483 Title: i8kutils requires outdated and not existing /proc/i8k To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/i8kutils/+bug/2113483/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
