I just did a system update, including Plasma, restarted, and saw that my Konsole window positions were remembered. Not perfect, but so much better than what was happening all these years, where all the Konsole windows were usually jammed onto one screen, one virtual desktop. This time, it remembered which windows were on which desktop, and had them in more or less the correct relative positions. Absolute positions: not really, but that's because KDE doesn't seem to remember the layout of my multimonitor setup. I don't mind dragging a few windows a bit, though. Having them go back to the same virtual desktop was the main problem, and that seems to be solved now. Hopefully this is not just a coincidence.
