I am facing the same issue, My laptop is ASUS ROG Strix G16 - and my lshw looks
like this -

its using the default - r8125-dkms-9.011.00-4ubuntu1.1
when trying to fetch a IP via DHCP it just throws warning messages like
these -

I tried adding the PPA suggested above -

$ sudo add-apt-repository
ppa:https://launchpad.net/~awesometic/+archive/ubuntu/ppa
Unable to handle repository shortcut
'ppa:https://launchpad.net/~awesometic/+archive/ubuntu/ppa'
maybe I am doing it wrong, please advise.
