The card is a Mystique S2. Both ports are connected to a Dual LNB for
Astra. The frontend is Kodi / Openelec using VNSI. Recording and live
viewing including timeshift have been working nicely for a very long
time.
Presumably since the last kernel upgrade on May 16th (the machine had
been running 6.8.0-59 before), it seems there is a race condition
somewhere in the stack. When recording and live viewing at the same
time, after about 20 minutes the picture begins to display decoding
artifacts, then eventually "channel: no data" and VNSI disconnect. It
does not recover unless I stop the recording, and sometimes I have to
restart VDR or even reboot the server. The log looks like this, and does
not give much clue about what happened:
