Public bug reported:
I am running several ubuntu servers mostly for services using docker,
nginx, samba, and others. I just ran yet another release upgrade from
22.04 LTS to 24.04 LTS.
On do-release-upgrade, there are annoyances:
During package installation, 3rd party repos are disabled. Ok, but why
cannot you reenable repos of installed software after the upgrade,
potentially also replacing release identifiers like jammy with noble?
You could even test automatically, whether the "upgraded" reference
supports the release and include these repos/packages installed from
there in the upgrade.
I don´t know whether this is a follow up issue or not, but some services
have been masked during upgrade, which they shouldn´t. In any case, if
there are side effects like the ones above, the upgrade should give a
summary warning at the end, prior to recommending a reboot.
