Is there an estimation on when this will go upstream, has a submission been 
started and is the discussion good so far?
Or is it either of the extremes:
- already merged by now, look here ...
- will never (or not anytime soon) be merged for reason

Understanding that will help us to decide if we can go on with the final
changes or if we need to have interim fixed to later on replace them.
