And other than comment #2, could you also do a test: boot with "live installation media", make sure the touchpad could work, then run 'sudo dmesg > /tmp/dmesg-bootmedia.txt'; upload the dmesg- bootmedia.txt to lauchpad, and upload the output of 'sudo evtest' or 'lsinput'
