hi im back and , was able to continue reproducing this (battery status 0% an dno longer charging) if batteries were removed. i had also obtained a couple extra batteries to look at behavior when rotating or swapping in different batteries and I have had problems where charging reported 0% and batteries no longer seemed to charge on AC , on two different laptops.
still was occurring all the way through kernel 6.14.6-061406 on a lark, i installed inxi to see if it would give different results than acpi and , after doing so, i can now remove and swap batteries and get their charging status and they still report theyre charging. cant tell you which one of these packages "solved" it because theyre all dependencies of inxi 2025-05-18 02:58:59 startup archives unpack 2025-05-18 02:59:00 install mesa-utils-bin:amd64 <none> 9.0.0-2 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status half-installed mesa-utils-bin:amd64 9.0.0-2 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status unpacked mesa-utils-bin:amd64 9.0.0-2 2025-05-18 02:59:00 install tree:amd64 <none> 2.1.1-2ubuntu3 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status half-installed tree:amd64 2.1.1-2ubuntu3 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status triggers-pending man-db:amd64 2.12.0-4build2 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status unpacked tree:amd64 2.1.1-2ubuntu3 2025-05-18 02:59:00 install inxi:all <none> 3.3.34-1-1 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status half-installed inxi:all 3.3.34-1-1 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status unpacked inxi:all 3.3.34-1-1 2025-05-18 02:59:00 install lm-sensors:amd64 <none> 1:3.6.0-9build1 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status half-installed lm-sensors:amd64 1:3.6.0-9build1 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status unpacked lm-sensors:amd64 1:3.6.0-9build1 2025-05-18 02:59:00 install mesa-utils:amd64 <none> 9.0.0-2 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status half-installed mesa-utils:amd64 9.0.0-2 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status unpacked mesa-utils:amd64 9.0.0-2 2025-05-18 02:59:00 startup packages configure 2025-05-18 02:59:00 configure inxi:all 3.3.34-1-1 <none> 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status unpacked inxi:all 3.3.34-1-1 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status half-configured inxi:all 3.3.34-1-1 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status installed inxi:all 3.3.34-1-1 2025-05-18 02:59:00 configure mesa-utils-bin:amd64 9.0.0-2 <none> 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status unpacked mesa-utils-bin:amd64 9.0.0-2 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status half-configured mesa-utils-bin:amd64 9.0.0-2 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status installed mesa-utils-bin:amd64 9.0.0-2 2025-05-18 02:59:00 configure tree:amd64 2.1.1-2ubuntu3 <none> 2025-05-18 02:59:00 status unpacked tree:amd64 2.1.1-2ubuntu3 2025-05-18 02:59:01 status half-configured tree:amd64 2.1.1-2ubuntu3 2025-05-18 02:59:01 status installed tree:amd64 2.1.1-2ubuntu3 2025-05-18 02:59:01 configure lm-sensors:amd64 1:3.6.0-9build1 <none> 2025-05-18 02:59:01 status unpacked lm-sensors:amd64 1:3.6.0-9build1 2025-05-18 02:59:01 status half-configured lm-sensors:amd64 1:3.6.0-9build1 2025-05-18 02:59:01 status installed lm-sensors:amd64 1:3.6.0-9build1 2025-05-18 02:59:01 configure mesa-utils:amd64 9.0.0-2 <none> 2025-05-18 02:59:01 status unpacked mesa-utils:amd64 9.0.0-2 2025-05-18 02:59:01 status half-configured mesa-utils:amd64 9.0.0-2 2025-05-18 02:59:01 status installed mesa-utils:amd64 9.0.0-2 2025-05-18 02:59:01 trigproc man-db:amd64 2.12.0-4build2 <none> 2025-05-18 02:59:01 status half-configured man-db:amd64 2.12.0-4build2 2025-05-18 02:59:03 status installed man-db:amd64 2.12.0-4build2 root@nia-CF-33S-1:/var/log# im okay with marking this as resolved, but maybe theres something in here that people with multiple batteries need that could be offered under additional software or something ... ? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2104261 Title: system stops charging from AC or getting charge state when battery 2 is removed or swapped To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/acpi/+bug/2104261/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
