There has not been activity on the 1.13.x branch in a few years, but upstream has a new 2.x branch with several stability releases so might be worth evaluating. I'm not spotting indications that Debian plans to update to that version, so presumably if 2.x is worth having it'd require either helping Debian or moving ahead of them. From the list of changes in 2.x it looks like support for some things is dropped, but I can't tell what that would impact for Ubuntu. The changes included in it appear to be more refinements than new features, but guessing 1.13 will not see further improvements so might be worth moving ahead?
