Public bug reported:
If you install the local help file (I used gimp-help-en-gb) and then
press on Help in gimp it cannot find the help files.
The reason seems to be related to the fact that chromium is a snap (why
it used chromium when my browser is set to firefox is a mystery, but
irrelevant here).
It seems that snaps cannot access local files.
If I try to open /usr/share/gimp/3/0/help/en_GB/index.html in chromium
(or firefox) what is actually opened (according to the URL bar) is a
location under /run/user/<<uid>>/... Which works, but then none of teh
links within it works as they are all relative, and nothing else is
there.
So, how can the local help files be used?
FYI: the on-line help can work, but only if you install the gvfs-
backends package, which is not installed by default.
