I think no one wants to install `fuse2`. The problem is that many users of `fuse` will not think to specify `fuse3` at installation. As a result, someone who is simply trying to get sshfs running will set everything up, have it working perfectly, and be very unpleasantly surprised the next day with a system that cannot boot into the desktop... If it is a laptop, this becomes a severe problem, specially on the road.
