Public bug reported:

I have noticed on several occasions that 24.04.2 LTS does NOT always
flush files to SSD when rebooting the OS.

This occurs with huge files >>GB in size as well as tiny files.

For example, for another bug I have reported I generated a journalctl
log file with was on my Ubuntu desktop. I then restarted Ubuntu (using
the upper right on screen menu). (I had to reboot Ubuntu because the
mouse was doing random clicks all by itself making the system unusable).

Following the reboot, my log files had vanished from the Desktop. This
last file loss was just a small text log file probably <100k in size.

My laptop uses an SSD as the primary storage for OS.

I didn't get to try using a manual "sync" before rebooting to see if
that prevents this fault from happening).
