Public bug reported:

Description of the issue:

The keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+N for creating a new folder in Nautilus
is not working. Instead of creating a new folder, it highlights the
first item in the list. The issue persists after restarting Nautilus and
testing the shortcut in a fresh user profile.

Steps to reproduce:

Open a Nautilus window.

Press Ctrl+Shift+N.

Observe that instead of creating a new folder, the first item in the
list is highlighted.

Expected behavior:

Pressing Ctrl+Shift+N should create a new folder in the current
directory.

Additional Information:

Ubuntu version: 24.04.2 LTS

Nautilus version: GNOME nautilus 46.2

GNOME version: GNOME Shell 46.0
