Additional info:

$ echo $WAYLAND

$ echo $WAYLAND_DISPLAY
wayland-0

So, after boot, the environment variable $WAYLAND is not set but the
variable $WAYLAND_DISPLAY is set to wayland-0.

Maybe the service is trying to be started too early at boot (?)
