reading, this appears less to be a _bug_, and more a) a documentation issue b) a poorly chosen default
the scenario: When providing a url _not pointing to a specific stream file_, the default attempts to load `streams/v1/index.sjson`. When that does not exist, an ugly stacktrace is thrown. I'm guessing since a user provided the non-specific URL, there's an issue that they weren't informed by the software that a) they _should_ provide a url to a specific streams file or; b) the default would be an sjson (signed json). Marking as `wishlist` for the project, as there's a well-stated "workaround", but the error is ugly, and the default not well documented. ** Summary changed: - Simplestreams package doesn't support json. It always looks for sjson + simplestreams.ssquery defaults to streams/v1/index.sjson when a stream file is not specified -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2084993 Title: simplestreams.ssquery defaults to streams/v1/index.sjson when a stream file is not specified To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/simplestreams/+bug/2084993/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
