reading, this appears less to be a _bug_, and more

a) a documentation issue
b) a poorly chosen default

the scenario: When providing a url _not pointing to a specific stream
file_, the default attempts to load `streams/v1/index.sjson`. When that
does not exist, an ugly stacktrace is thrown.

I'm guessing since a user provided the non-specific URL, there's an
issue that they weren't informed by the software that

a) they _should_ provide a url to a specific streams file or;
b) the default would be an sjson (signed json).

Marking as `wishlist` for the project, as there's a well-stated
"workaround", but the error is ugly, and the default not well
documented.

** Summary changed:

- Simplestreams package doesn't support json. It always looks for sjson
+ simplestreams.ssquery defaults to streams/v1/index.sjson when a stream file
is not specified
