I have the same problem with a Cannon A60. When I connect the camera it starts the picture importer but after it says:
An error occurred in the io-library ('Bad parameters'): Could not find USB device (vendor 0x4a9, product 0x3074). Make sure this device is connected to the computer. PowerShot A60 (ptp) Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 so I tried sudo gnome-volume-manager-gthumb and it worked. What shall I do to have it working as the normal users? I had a scanner that I needed to chmod +w the /proc/bus/usb/xxxx/yyyy but here I do not see any files at @golfinho:~$ ls -lart /proc/bus/usb/ [empty] regards.
