FYI: I've done many installs on BIOS only machines using manual partitioning (only replace.partition with 0417 ISO though, so older ISOs only), without issue...
I think key is what Aaron said > GRUB simply isn't installed when you separate /boot and / on a BIOS machine with MBR partitioning as most of my installs on BIOS had - partition for `/` only - partition for `/` and another for `/home` without ESP and I can't think of a reason to use `/boot` on its own partition so I'll not have done that I bet. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2107555 Title: Manual partitioning fails on BIOS installs for Calamares-based flavors To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/2107555/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
