Thanks. I can see VLC using lots of CPU and memory, but that's just a
VLC problem. I recommend instead using 'mpv' instead:

  sudo apt install mpv vainfo intel-media-va-driver-non-free
  vainfo  # check it is working
  mpv MOVIEFILE

There are also:

 * Crashes in your kernel wifi driver (88XXau) which may be causing stalls.
 * A number of Chrome tabs open consuming significant RAM and CPU so you should 
close as many as you can.
