Public bug reported: Hello,
Ubuntu 24.04.2 running with secure boot + FDE using the TPM, all setup with the official installer. This is my gf's laptop so I am trying to be as vanilla as possible. We are not able to do the regular system upgrade through the GUI. Using the command line gives a little bit more information: dpkg: error processing archive /tmp/apt-dpkg-install-cOTDC6/02-wireless-regdb_2024.07.04-0ubuntu1~24.04.1_all.deb (--unpack): unable to create '/lib/firmware/regulatory.db.dpkg-new' (while processing './lib/firmware/regulatory.db'): Read-only file system dpkg: error while cleaning up: unable to remove newly-extracted version of '/lib/firmware/regulatory.db': Read-only file system Sorry if the bug report was done in the wrong component… ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 24.04 Package: ubuntu-release-upgrader-core 1:24.04.26 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.8.0-54.56-generic 6.8.12 Uname: Linux 6.8.0-54-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.28.1-0ubuntu3.5 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CrashDB: ubuntu CrashReports: 600:0:109:146280:2025-04-05 11:42:10.169968251 -0700:2025-04-05 12:02:54.649446183 -0700:/var/crash/wireless-regdb.0.crash CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Sat Apr 5 12:06:11 2025 PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 PATH=(custom, no user) SHELL=/bin/bash TERM=xterm-256color XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> RebootRequiredPkgs: Error: path contained symlinks.
