Public bug reported: Summary =======
At boot gdm shows an entirely black screen with some weird screen artifacts. The mouse still works. After experimenting a bit I found that logging in blindly works and only wayland seems to be affected. Changing the gdm config to wayland=false makes it render properly. The problem appeared after a recent update to mesa 25.04. Downgrading everything manually resolves the problem. Downgrading only libgl1-mesa- dri did not help. Other Debian users seem to be affected too, see https://github.com/hexdump0815/imagebuilder/issues/314 Hardware ======== Device: Asus Chromebook CM14 SOC: mt8186 GPU: Mali-G52 r1 (Panfrost) Packages ======== libegl-mesa0/plucky,now 25.0.1-2ubuntu1 arm64 [installed,automatic] libgl1-mesa-dri/plucky,now 25.0.1-2ubuntu1 arm64 [installed,automatic] libglx-mesa0/plucky,now 25.0.1-2ubuntu1 arm64 [installed,automatic] mesa-libgallium/plucky,now 25.0.1-2ubuntu1 arm64 [installed,automatic] mesa-va-drivers/plucky,now 25.0.1-2ubuntu1 arm64 [installed,automatic] mesa-vdpau-drivers/plucky,now 25.0.1-2ubuntu1 arm64 [installed,automatic] mesa-vulkan-drivers/plucky,now 25.0.1-2ubuntu1 arm64 [installed,automatic] Happy to collect more info or run tests ** Affects: mesa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2103601 Title: 25.0.1 breaks gdm on panfrost To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/2103601/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
