You can also try forcing the newer amdgpu module to be used instead of
radeon:

echo "options amdgpu cik_support=1" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/forceamdgpu.conf
echo "options radeon cik_support=0" | sudo tee -a 
/etc/modprobe.d/forceamdgpu.conf
sudo update-initramfs -u -k all

(Or use dracut --force instead of update-initramfs if you're using
dracut)
