Public bug reported:

Ubuntu release: 24.04.2 LTS

Package version: 3.3.9-1ubuntu1

Current behavior:

When using --shortname-scheme=spdx, licensecheck outputs the following
invalid SPDX license identifiers (according to the SPDX License List
3.26.0):

Autoconf-data
GFDL (needs version)
GFDL-1.2+ (should be GFDL-1.2-or-later)
GFDL-1.3+ (should be GFDL-1.3-or-later)
GPL (needs version)
GPL-2 (should be GPL-2.0, "-only" or "-or-later")
GPL-2+ (should be GPL-2.0, "+" should be "-or-later")
GPL-3 (should be GPL-3.0, "-only" or "-or-later")
GPL-3+ (should be GPL-3.0-or-later)
LGPL (needs version)
LGPL-2 (should be LGPL-2.0, "-only" or "-or-later")
LGPL-3 (should be LGPL-3.0, "-only" or "-or-later")
LGPL-3+ (should be LGPL-3.0-or-later)
MIT~Boehm
Proprietary
public-domain

Additionally, the following licenses are still valid but deprecated:

BSD-2-Clause-NetBSD
LGPL-2.1 (should specify "-only" or "-or-later")
LGPL-2.1+ (should be "-or-later")

Expected behavior:

When using --shortname-scheme=spdx, licensecheck should not output
invalid SPDX license identifiers.

** Affects: licensecheck (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
