Public bug reported: When using autoinstall (https://canonical-subiquity.readthedocs- hosted.com/en/latest/intro-to-autoinstall.html) to do an offline installation of Ubuntu since 21.10, the ubuntu-desktop-minimal package will never be successfully installed since there is no way to prompt snapd to skip the Firefox installation.
As a consequence of moving the firefox dpkg to a snap (and therefore online) package, the firefox application should be removed as a dependency of the ubuntu-desktop-minimal package and not be installed to enable seamless offline execution of autoinstall. ** Affects: ubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: autoinstall firefox offline ubuntu-desktop-minimal ** Attachment added: "Blocked offline autoinstall because firefox is no longer a dpkg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2104855/+attachment/5867789/+files/VirtualBox_ubuntu-autoinstall_27_03_2025_22_11_04.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2104855 Title: firefox should be removed from ubuntu-desktop-minimal since it is no longer a dpkg To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-meta/+bug/2104855/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
