This patch seems to disable failed connection detection, so there can be a potential risk of an infinite loop of connection attempts. I'm concerned this can be a denial-of-service or CPU spinning bug in cases that the SQL server is actually down. Please either correct me if I'm wrong, or link to the upstream changeset that shows this fix being adopted.
