Public bug reported: Your hardware: HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF with NVIDIA GT 620
Ubuntu version: 24.04 The issue: Second monitor works only with cursor visible when using Wayland with Nouveau driver The solution that worked: Switching to Xorg by setting WaylandEnable=false in /etc/gdm3/custom.conf The error message I found: "nouveau 0000:01:00.0: gr: DATA_ERROR 0000009c [] ch 5 [003f9dd000 gnome-shell[2932]] subc 0 class 9197 mthd 0d78 data 00000004" Suggest that Ubuntu might want to improve detection of these older NVIDIA cards and automatically switch to Xorg or provide a notification to users experiencing the issue.
