I can confirm that diffuse from noble-proposed has fixed the bug for me.
Test done:
installed diffuse and tried to execute it and confirmed that it still
fails.
Added noble-proposed to apt sources.
install diffuse from noble-proposed.
Followed the testplan and used diffuse to view the differences to
confirm that it works now.
Package tested:
$ apt-cache policy diffuse
diffuse:
Installed: 0.8.2-1ubuntu1.1
Candidate: 0.8.2-1ubuntu1.1
