This bug will be fixed when a developer will find and fix the problem. Anybody ( that has some programming skills ) can work on this. For your problem, I'm sure that you can find a solution that doesn't require to disable GPM. However, I think that you'll get the what you need here : https://answers.launchpad.net/ rather than in the bug report which should only contains comments and informations that will help developers to make fast and proper fixes. If this bug report gets too much comments that are not directly providing important informations, most probably that it will be difficult for developers to work on it and fix it.
