Where did you get that Nvidia DMKS driver from? I don't believe that's
an Ubuntu provided DKMS and thus unsupported. You need to remove it to
get rid of the error.

But then again our Nvidia story is sub-optimal.  What do you get for:
$ dpkg -l | grep nvidia
