I seem to be experiencing the same issue on Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS. I briefly tried to install Debian to see if it handles differently than Ubuntu on my laptop and perhaps has better support for an LTE modem, so I removed the Ubuntu NVME from my laptop, added a new one, installed Debian, then removed the Debian NVME, put back the Ubuntu NVMe, and now the wifi icon disappeared from the top bar in the right menu with quick config actions.
I tried re-installing the network-manager-gnome package, but to no avail. ** Attachment added: "Wifi icon missing from tray" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1774957/+attachment/5840831/+files/Screenshot%20from%202024-11-27%2020-33-15.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1774957 Title: Network icons in status menu disappearing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1774957/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
