I have discovered something new:

I load a .jpg on the desktop and change from 0664 to e.g. 0777, then the
preview image is created immediately, as far as I know.

But now I go to /home/USERNAME/.cache/thumbnails and delete all folders (fail
and large).
Now I click on the desktop with the right mouse button “Arrange” and the
thumbnail is gone again and in the /home/USERNAME/.cache/thumbnails is again
the fail folder and there is no new thumbnail of the .jpg, although the right
is still on 0777.
